Rolls ~ Stephanie
Makes 2 dozen
2 C. Hot Water
1 C. Butter (or butter
flavored shortening, but butter is best)
2 1/2 Tblsp. Yeast
2 Eggs - slightly
beaten
3/4 C. Sugar
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Baking Powder
6 C. Flour
*1/2 C. Flour
Pour hot water over
butter. Add in the rest of the ingredients in the order listed above (minus
the 1/2 C. Flour). Let dough rise in
warm oven until double. Form rolls - you'll want to use the 1/2 C Flour that
you held out of the mixing because this dough is sticky but it makes extra
yummy rolls when it's that way! Let them raise until the rolls are touching but
some of the baking sheet is still visible (this is important - these rolls get
big). Put into a 400 degree oven and bake for 15 minutes or until rolls are
browned on top. Rub butter on the tops while still hot.
